RANCAH POST – BlackBerry Leap telah resmi diumumkan pada gelaran MWC 2015 melalui konferensi pers perusahaan. Namun demikian, anggota terbaru keluarga smartphone BlackBerry merupakan perangkat mid-range dengan dibekali layar HD 5 inci serta menghasilkan kerapatan warna pada 294 ppi.
Spesifikasi BlackBerry Leap antara lain, tampak ada chipset yang agak ketinggalan jaman yaitu Snapdragon S4 Plus dengan dikawinkan dengan prosesor dual-core 1.5GHz Krait dan kapasitas RAM 2 GB. BlackBerry Leap juga dibekali memori internal sebesar 16 GB dengan dukungan slot kartu microSD untuk ekspansi memori tambahan hingga 128 GB.
BlackBerry Leap memiliki dimensi bodi 144 x 72,8 x 9.5 mm dan bobot 170 gram. Handset dibekali unit baterai Li-Ion non-removable sebesar 2.800 mAH. BlackBerry mengklaim, dengan kapasitas baterai tersebut mampu bertahan hingga 25 jam penggunaan berat.
Soal pencitraan, handset terbaru pabrikan BlackBerry ini disematkan kamera utama 8 megapiksel dengan autofokus dan flash LED. Kamera mampu merekam video 1080p pada 30fps serta memiliki 5x digital zoom. BlackBerry Leap menjalankan sistem operasi BlackBerry 10.3.1.
