RANCAH POST – American Music Awards 2014 telah resmi umumkan jajaran nominasinya. Hal mengejutkan pun terjadi ketika dua penyanyi asal Australia, Iggy Azalea, diikuti Lorde asal Selandia Baru menguasai nominasi AMA 2014.
Iggy Azalea sukses meraup enam nomine AMA, seperti pada kategori Artist of The Year, New Artist of the Year, Single of the Year untuk lagu Fancy, duetnya bersama Charli XCX. Kategori lainnya, Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Artist, dan Rap/hip-hop Album.
Di kategori New Artist of the Year itu, bersaing bersama grup rock yang juga berasal dari Australia, 5 Seconds of Summer. Bastille dan Meghan Trainor juga meramaikan persaingan di kategori tersebut.
Di bawah pelantun Black Widow itu terdapat nama-nama besar seperti Pharrel Williams, Katy Perry dan John Legend yang masing-masing mengantongi lima nomine.
Kelima peraih nomine terbanyak itu pun akan bersaing sengit memperebutkan kategori paling bergengsi di AMA, Artist of the Year. AMA akan digelar pada 23 November mendatang Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles.
